38 Years Later - Beautiful as Ever

It was a beautiful day and we decided to take a drive up Brighten Canyon.  In 1974 we were marred in Mule Hollow Inn, just past Storm Mountain.  We thought it would be fun to see if the building was still there and what it looked like . .
Here is a picture of it during our wedding .   .

The caretaker of the building on June 24, 2012, let us go up and take some picture of the place to be able to see how well it has held up all these years.

JUST HAPPENED TO BE IN THE NEIGHBORGHOOD

I was getting ready one morning to go to work and I opened up the blinds . . .and there she was . . .

What a surprise that was . .

I had to leave, but she hung around for a while -

I was pretty excited about our new visitor, thinking it would be a short stay.  I came home around 7:00 pm, tired and hungry.  So I grabbed my dinner and wanted to eat outside on the deck.  When I sat down . . . look who greeted me . .. 

She hung around for an hour or so and then decided it was time to leave.  I was a nice visit while it lasted. . . Until next time . . . . 

The Crib that Pops Made

When I was pregnant with my first son, Kristian, Tim made a crib for him in 1980.  My husband is so talented, I am spoiled.  All three of my babies slept in this crib, so it really means a lot to us.  Kristian and Tracy are having our first grand baby (a girl, by the way) and it is so wonderful to know that we can pass it on to them.  They have put their own touches on it and it looks GREAT!
We are thrilled and are anxiously awaiting for her arrival the first part of September.

It is Spring and I love it!!!!  It always amazes me how fast the leaves on the trees come out overnight.  One day it will be gray and the next day full of green and blossoms.  This is what I am talking about.

Having a BLAST last weekend!

My buddy Sheila and I attended the retreat this year in Midway and had so much fun.

SPRINGTIME IN THE ROCKIES

The weather is very interesting here in Park City, Utah . . . One day it can be 70 degrees and the very next day we can have a total WHITE OUT, with Parley's Canyon closing because of slick roads.  On Friday at 7:00 AM I got in my car to head for work . . when I got to the Freeway Entrance . . HOLY TOLEDO!!!!  It was a parking lot.
Cars were creeping by, the roads were covered with snow and they wind was blowing like crazy.  So I decided to go have some PANCAKES!!!!!!  Enough of that.  (By the way Kneaders have the best pancakes, not to mention their french toast)!!

I hung out until 10:30 and headed down to work.  A little better. . . but the kind of messy at the bottom.  Took a short-cut through Emigration Canyon.
By 2:30 . . .BLUE SKY AND CLEAR ROADS. . . . C R A Z Y!!!!!

My Mentor

Ever since I was little I had a special connection with my Grandma (Julia Kuhn).  She was the one that has inspired me to sew, cook, crochet and all the things I find myself doing and enjoying.

She was a wonderful cook, and had her own catering business in her younger years.  She made clothes for all of us sisters.  We would go to Fashion Fabrics or the Yardstick, and pick out fabric which she would whip into beautiful dresses with her Singer Sewing Machine.  I was always so impressed with what she could do.  When we would visit her she was always crocheting another afghan.  She made one for everyone of her grandchildren (at least 28). 

Christmas time was a wonderful memory.  Cookies Galore . .   she made so may varieties she was amazing, she rarely used a recipe. 

Grandma had arthritis in her knees, but that didn't stop her for doing things that needed to be done.  Something I find myself doing is when I wipe down the floors I can do it just like her . . bending down without bending my knees.  I remember her having beautiful nails, always polished and manicured.  Grandma had a wonderful sense of humor. . . she loved to laugh and always fun to be around.  She loved to listen to Opera and
Classical music, and traveled with our family on many road trips.  It was always so much fun. 

These are just a few things I remember . .. . SHE WAS MY MENTOR!!
