THE HOUSE THAT GRANDMA"B" BUILT

On Monday, Septembe 23, 2013 the TREK begins.

Tracy and Ellie are on their way to begin their life in Herriman, Utah. Leaving California has been a long time coming. Kristian and Tracy's house is finally finished and they are ready to reunite as a family. It hasn't been an easy wait but one that will be worth it.

In the meantime I have been keeping myself busy. Being so excited to having them closer to us I decided to embark on a couple of projects. To have a little granddaugher in the family has been a dream come true for me, so I have been a little out of control. I decided that Ellie needed a little place of her own. Somewhere where she could go to be in her own space,
so, this is what Grandma "B" came up with.

I had to do something on the inside, since that is where she will be hanging out. So I decided to make her a little fireplace to make it nice and cozy.

For the final touch . . . there is a picture above it with guess who??

Marg Takes On Comic Con in SLC (2013)

Salt Lake City had their first COMIC CON this year (2013). I have always heard so much about it. Kristian and Timmy seemed to live for it in San Diego. It was a hit in SLC. They were hoping for 8,000 people to turn out . . . . but it has exploded to 80,000. On the news they said it had done so well, it could give San Diego a run for its money. This is a GOOD THING. I had to check it out and see what all the talk was about, and besides, Tim had a booth there to show and sell his art. So I dug around in my costume boxes and came up with a TOON CELEBRITY and away we went.

Here is Tim at his booth . . . He sold out every day. The people LOVED his work!!!

When I first got there I was surprised, someone wanted to have their picture taken with me.

Then I was excited. . . it must have been the TALL BLUE HAIR. It happened more times than I could possibly believe . .. THANKS MARG!

In the middle of the hall we ran into Dr. Whos time traveling phone booth!

There were some pretty sketchy characters all over the place .

Even walking back to our car, we bumped into some Super Heros. It was a GREAT TIME!

Not to forget . . . . I got a big hug and a kiss on the check from Henry Winkler (the FONZ)

That made my day!!

Everyone Needs a "SHELITA"

I just finished up being a volunteer for a United Way Golf Tournament (work related) in Midway. It was at the Wasatch Park Golf Course. A Beautiful Place. We were finished a couple of hours earlier so I decided to give my buddy Sheila a call. I haven't seen her for a while and I wanted to catch up.

I met her at the Farmer's Market in Park City, which is located at the Canyon's Resort every Wednesday. After strolling through the place.. she came up with a GREAT idea! "Hey, do you want to take a Gondola Ride to the top of the mountain?" Well, . . . hadn't planned that one, but it sounded AWESOME. "If you don't do it now when will you????????" So before I knew it we were standing in line to buy tickets. The sky was so beautiful and the last week of August would be a perfect time, to catch a wonderful view.

Going Up . . .

On the top of the mountain we walked into the lodge and Sheila showed me the heavenly Granola Bars she discovered there. Boy. . . they were unbelievable.

After a checking out the place we decided it was time to get back to where we needed to be.

So down the mountain we went.

That was a FUN, FUN spontaneous adventure.

A NEW ADDITION ANNOUNCED

Received some GREAT news . . . Ellie is going to be a BIG SISTER. Kristian and Tracy are adding to their cute family. Coming this January 2014 a little grandson is going to arrive. GREAT NEWS!! We are all very EXCITED.

Kristian and Tracy's new home, in Herriman, is almost finished. We are so happy that they live closer to us. California was fun, but it was FAR AWAY . . . Now it will be just about a 1 hour drive from Park City.

Celebrating 39 years on the Pacific Coast

On May 17th Tim and I celebrated our 39 Wedding Anniversary. We usually like to take a road trip to celebrate it. So we headed West to visit our family in LA . . . It has been several months since we have seen our darling Ellie and we needed a definite FIX . . .

It was so fun to give her HUGS and KISSES . .. she is so ADORABLE.

I have been waiting to be able to sew for a little girl . . so I got a little out of control. Ellie received a few gifts from Grandma B.

Staying in LA for 3 days, we were thrilled to be with the "Little Bug". She has gotten so big and it was so fun to play with her.

Then we decided to go SHOPPING .. . go out and get some fresh air and sunshine.

We worked up an appetite . . so we took a break to have a nice dinner.

It was time to say so-long and on Monday we took off towards Monterey . . .

We had to check out Santa Barbara, one of our favorite places.

Then there it was . . .

The estate is of historic architectural styles that William Hearst admired in his travels

around Europe.

Hearst was a prolific buyer who did not so much purchase art and antiques to furnish his home as he did build his home to get his bulging collection out of warehouses.

This led to incongruous elements such as the private cinema whose walls were lined with shelves of rare books.

The floor plan of the Main Building is chaotic due to his habit of buying centuries-old ceilings, which dictated the proportions and decor of various rooms.

Hearst Castle featured 56 bedrooms, 61 bathrooms, 19 sitting rooms, 127 acres of gardens, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, a movie theater, and airfield and the world's largest private zoo. Zebras and other exotic animals still roam the grounds.

One highlight of the estate is the outdoor Neptune Pool, located near the edge of the hilltop, which has a beautiful few of the mountains, ocean and the main house. The Neptune Pool patio features an ancient Roman Temple front, transported wholesale from Europe and reconstructed at the site.

Invitations to Hearst Castle were highly coveted during its heyday in the 1920s and '30s. The Hollywood and political elite often visited, usually flying into the estate's airfield or taking a private Hearst-owned train car from Los Angeles. Charlie Chaplin, Cary Grant, the Marx Brothers, Charles Lindbergh, Joan Crawford, Clark Gable, James Stewart, Bob Hope Calvin Coolidge, Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill were among Hearst's A-list guests. While guests were expected to attend the formal dinners each evening, they were normally left to their own devices during the day while Hearst directed his business affairs. Since "the Ranch" had so many facilities, guests were rarely at a loss for things to do. The estate's theater usually screened films from Hearst's own movie studio, Cosmopolitan Productions.
